I am a Registered Dietitian and Health Coach and a graduate of the AFMCP program with the Institute of Functional Medicine.

As a teenager, I struggled with poor mental health, constipation, stomach pain, and extreme lethargy. The “why” was never clear… until my mother dragged me reluctantly to a raw food health institute for two weeks.

I had NEVER thought about the food I put into my mouth prior to this. How fascinating that I could change the trajectory of my health simply by changing my dietary choices. The power was in my hands! This led me down the path to dietetics and holistic health.

Gut health is the foundation of holistic healing. When our gut is off, there is a cascading effect throughout our body. Poor gut health can lead to a dampened immune system, hormonal dysfunction, poor cognition, and chronic disease.

In healthcare, we are left with either symptom-focused or root cause-focused care. Conventional care is the former and is very effective in acute care, but promotes temporary improvement in chronic conditions. Root cause-focused care allows us to more effectively target what started the chronic condition in the first place, the goal of which is to effect lasting change.

When we deal with the root cause of gut health, we can often positively impact our overall wellbeing. This means results.

When working with patients, I focus on the body and then weave in your mind and emotions throughout our sessions. It is important to check in with how your thoughts and feelings may be impacting your care and progress. I enjoy being part of the Network of Care at modrn med because all the practitioners have a vast amount of knowledge in the area of holistic health. Our evidence-based medicine approach ensures that we can obtain the most reliable, proven, and effective means of healing.

Plus, the collaboration between the health professionals helps provide the best customized and patient-centered care – increasing the state of joy you feel within.

For me, joy looks like a state of self-confidence in who I am and my purpose in life, a centering and profound connection to God, and cultivating consistency in my joy level with family, friends and hobbies.

How about you?

I’m looking forward to helping you on your journey.
